Mounting Guest CD-ROM

Using vShere Client to attach a cd-rom, whether it be actual physical drive or a virtual one, does not automatically mount it in a Linux server guest. So here's how...

using the console from vShpere or SSH into the Linux guest.

you need to be logged in as root or make yourself root with su or use sudo

make your mount point for the cdrom

mkdir /media/cdrom

now mount the cd-rom

mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom

now change directory and see what's on your cd-rom

cd /media/cdrom

if there is nothing listed, then you probably forgot to actually insert a disc(physical) or attach an iso(virtual).
